Pujya Acharya Shri Chandanaji who had contemplated on the messages of Bhagwan Mahavir and had a deep desire to carry out compassionate work in the land where Bhagwan Mahavir walked. When planning the 2500 year anniversary of Bhagwan Mahavir s Moksha in the 1970s, it was Gurudev who suggested that instead of any grand celebrations, compassionate work should take place in the land of Bhagwan Mahavir. With unwavering belief and exuding love for all, Sadhvi Shri Chandanaji (now Pujya Tai Ma) stood up and said that she will go to Bihar, which at that time was a lawless state, and do compassionate work there.
Pujya Tai Ma has nurtured, grown and steered the achievements of Veerayatan for the past fifty years with just one aim in mind.

About Veerayatan
Veerayatan is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, which was established in 1973 in the state of Bihar by Acharya Shri Chandanaji with the blessings of Param Pujya Gurudev Shri Amar Muni ji Maharaj. It is run by a team of dynamic and dedicated Sadhvis with the support of Trustees, committee members, professional staff and committed volunteers whose work is performed without any regard to caste, creed, race, religion or socio-economic status.. Since its inception Veerayatan created an indelible impact in extending extraordinary contribution towards the alleviation of human suffering.
Veerayatan encompasses a wide spectrum of activities which include starting and running Schools, Hospitals and Vocational training for the under privileged section of the society, especially for the Rural population. Free medical checkups, Eye surgeries, Polio re-correction surgeries have been the part of our effort. Veerayatan has also actively initiated emergency rehabilitation programs in the aftermath of natural calamities like earthquakes, floods and tsunami.Veerayatan was among the first organization presented to provide necessary relief and rehabilitation following the 2001 earthquake in Kutch Gujarat, the tsunami in 2004 and during the Surat floods in 2006.
About Veerayatan Institute Of Pharmacy
VIP came into existence on 20th August, 2005 is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University and recognized by Government of Gujarat. VIP follows the curriculum of GTU (Gujarat Technological University) i.e. 2 semesters per year. The syllabus is set by GTU teaching scheme.
60 seats are allotted for pharmacy course (B.Pharm) and 6 seats under TFWS (Tuition Fees Waiver Scheme) and EWS (Economically Weaker Section). All the seats are filled by ACPC (Admission Committee for Professional Courses, Ahemdabad) on merit basis.

We first came to Kachchh in 2001 after the heart-rending earthquake that had left millions of people homeless and devastated. The tragedy was huge and instant assistance was required. We immediately initiated the task of relief and rehabilitation to alleviate their suffering. Realizing the need to reinstate education in the area and to bring the children out of the trauma, many stop-gap schools were set up by Veerayatan in the region and various vocational training centres were also initiated to empower the local people. To promote and support education at all levels, Veerayatan then established many permanent centres of learning in Kachchh.
Since we wanted to support the region on a long-term basis, we felt that technical & professional education could bring about the much-needed growth and employment for the local youth. To make the most out of the tremendous industrial development that the region of Kachchh saw post-earthquake, Veerayatan began the first Pharmacy degree college of Kachchh in the year 2005. Next, the colleges of Computer Applications and Business Administration were initiated in 2008.The journey of shaping up the better futures continued by initiating an extraordinary Engineering College in 2010. Our aim is not only imparting the best of education but also to develop wholesome personalities of the students. The atmosphere in the colleges encourage independent thinking and inspire students to contribute for the betterment of the society from a very young age.

On 26th January 2001, a terrible earthquake struck the region of kutch. Seeing the devastation caused, the Sadhvijis of Veerayatan were deeply moved and immediately rushed to the area to initiate relief and rehabilitation work. With the blessings of Acharya Shri Chandana ji, under the dynamic leadership of Pujya Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji, several stopgap schools and vocational training centers were set up to support local people. Realizing the vast need for ongoing rehabilitation and for education at all Levels, Veerayatan then established many permanent centers of Learning in Kutch. Using a professional approach, along with inculcating moral and spiritual values, Veerayatan has created a revolution in the educational field in Kutch.
Kutch, the largest district in the country, is witnessing an individual revolution. Literate, skilled and educated manpower is in high demand in all industries in this burgeoning economic and industrial hub of Gujarat, one of India’s fastest growing states,
Young people need to be trained professionally to gain employment in these specialized areas, Veerayatan has embarked on the journey of providing first class technical education so that young people can be involved in this process at the outset. Education in this field is vital for the health of the local community and the country as a whole.
India has a vast pool of bright young people the largest in the world and equivalent to that of the US and Europe combined who could be taking up the new challenges in our country. However, this human resource remains largely untapped, because at the moment, only 14% of those eligible for the higher education register to continue their studies. Because of the lack of growth in the rural areas. The majority of young people who take up higher education and their talent is not utilized for the development of our country. Therefore, Veerayatan is committed to bringing professional education to rural areas to train young people holistically.
